Star Fox

Star Fox (originally released in Europe as Starwing) is a landmark sci-fi rail shooter developed by Nintendo and Argonaut Software, serving as the groundbreaking debut of Nintendo’s iconic space combat franchise. Players take command of Fox McCloud—leader of the elite mercenary Star Fox team—alongside his loyal squadmates Falco Lombardi, Peppy Hare, and Slippy Toad, as they pilot Arwing starfighters across the Lylat System to liberate Corneria from the evil mad scientist Andross. The game made gaming history as Nintendo’s first title to utilize the Super FX chip—a revolutionary graphics acceleration coprocessor built directly into the SNES cartridge—enabling fluid 3D polygonal graphics on 16-bit home hardware.
